January 1, 2017, marks a fresh start. It’s a time to reflect on the old and relish the new; the perfect opportunity to resolve to make a change in your life. While you can attend dozens of holiday parties, there is only one night in which to ring in the New Year, giving you a great excuse to charter a private flight to one of the most festive destinations in the world.
New Year’s Eve Destinations to Fly to in a Private Jet
Paris, France
Living up to its nickname, the City of Lights goes all out for the Nouvelle Année. Gather at the Eiffel Tower to watch the impressive light show and fireworks display. Or, head to the thriving epicenter of the festivities, Champs-Élysées, to join in the massive street party where bottles of champagne freely flow, bises (kisses on the cheek) are abundant, and chocolate papillotes are a staple. If you don’t like crowds, consider heading to Montmartre to get a view of the fireworks. Or, book a dinner cruise on a bateau-mouche (riverboat) on the Seine for a view that only a few will enjoy.
London, England
In London, residents and visitors gather around the Thames River to get a view of the festivities, which includes a fireworks show when Big Ben’s hands reach midnight. After taking in a view of the city from the massive London Eye, join in the attraction’s New Year’s Eve celebration in the nearby Riverside Rooms, where guests enjoy a four-course meal and access to premier fireworks viewing areas. On January 1, head downtown to see the fabulous New Year’s Day parade, which starts at Westminster and ends at Green Park. The parade features dancers, floats, bands and a procession of the Queen’s horses.
Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands
On December 31, the residents of Jost Van Dyke in the Caribbean celebrate Old Year’s Night. The sailor’s mecca is one of the friendliest, most welcoming islands, as well as the smallest in the BVI archipelago. The biggest blowout of the year is at Foxy’s Bar on the Great Harbour. The party begins on December 30 with fresh seafood, spirits, and live music until the early morning hours. On the 31st, those who reserve a spot early hang out in the exclusive VIP Upper Crust dining area for an elegant multi-course dinner at a private table, making this local hangout the place to be. (Warning: your friends back home will be jealous.)
Orlando, Florida
If you seek a family-friendly New Year’s Eve destination, you can’t get friendlier than the happiest place on Earth. While most of Orlando’s theme parks ring in the New Year with gusto, the Walt Disney World goes all out to light-up the night sky with fireworks and confetti explosions. Leading up to the pyrotechnic salute are live music, special performances, and dance parties. Raise your spirits with a great meal at one of a handful of restaurants hosting New Year’s Eve festivities. The more-upscale California Grill at the Magic Kingdom Resort is the best for its view of the fireworks in the park. Dine like royalty at the Chef’s Table at the lavish Victoria & Albert’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, which features a delectable 10-course meal. Additional premier New Year’s dining options include Monsieur Paul at Epcot and Shula’s Steak House at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel.
