Memorial Day, the last Monday in May, signals the start of the summer season. To take advantage of the wonderful weather, about one in three Americans travel over the long weekend. The federal holiday originally honored fallen soldiers who fought in the Civil War, which claimed more lives than any other conflict in U.S. history. Today, it is a day to remember all who died while serving in the country’s armed forces. One of the best ways to honor the country is to see it. Take a private chartered flight for Memorial Day weekend, and make this year the ultimate upgrade from the traditional backyard barbecue.
